Dreams Come True

It’s true, dreams do come true. You’re reading this despite one month without an update! Ha-ha! I apologize, but I’ve been so busy. And it’s picking up with Oak Fest this week. I love it, though. And I love meeting our fans at the events we cover. This summer has been awesome so far. We got the Fire Night coming to TV soon, Relay, Tinley Park Benches, Oak Fest, and a few more.

Kelly is back for summer, and she’s been a stupendous help. Her and Jim (with a little Ron) provide an awesome staff to help on our shoots. I commend them on keeping up with me in the field (and occasionally keeping me on track).

Anyway, you may remember that Kelly and myself VIPed with Rascal Flatts last year. Well this year, we did one better… We got an exclusive interview with Justin Moore on Flatts Fest! Thank you so much to him, Kelly Rich, and Best Buy of Tinley Park for helping make this moment possible. Kelly did an excellent job on the interview. (Even I was surprised she didn’t have to stop once. I know I would have been making mistakes left and right.) What a great way for her to spend her birthday weekend!

We even shot a short Vlog for your viewing pleasure. Be sure to look for her exclusive interview with Justin Moore in July. And Kelly, we look-forward to your Vlogs when you come back from vacation!

Sick as a Dog, but work goes on

Great job to the OFHS Band, Choirs, and theatre for their hard work this past month. Many great performances, and it should make for great TV both online and in “real world”. Our Facebook Fanpage increased, too. Thanks and keep “Liking” us!

Since I’m sick, I got to cut it short. Here’s a video to satisfy your hunger, though…

The Challenge is a new dawn…

Whoa!  It’s been a while since I posted, but I got a whammy!  Brand new show idea we shot.  Did not turn out like I planned, but I think people should enjoy.  It’s a great way to promote businesses, as well.  Michael Dulkowski helped come up with the idea for a show that pits regular people against a challenge that a business offers.  We call it “The Iron Challenge”.

To help promote it, we’ve launced a Facebook page for “The Iron Challenge” and AC Variety Productions.  Be sure to become fans!!!  It’s almost midnight and I got a big day tomorrow, so until next time…

Advancement can be a good thing…

Ah, advancement in technology can be a double-edged sword…  I can’t explain how, but it can be.  Thankfully, I have found a way to improve production time for small pieces.  AC Variety Productions can publish key news stories in less that 48 hours.

By word-of-mouth, it seems that the Primetime Programing Lineup is becoming a success.  People realize the work that Jim and myself put into it each month.  I’ll refrain from posting videos of it for now, but feel free to let us know if you are interested in hosting the segment at your location!

Anyway, AC Variety Productions has been blessed to cover the Jazz Night coming up.  Should be a great way to showcase what those students are doing in school.  Anyway, got to get some more work done, but here are our latest videos…

Luck of the Irish?

Hello once again.  So I’ve been slow on the updates, but still faster than when I first began!!  Anyway, I covered my first Fleadh the other day, and it seemed to go great.  The “script” went out the window when I left my home, but I think the entire crew of volunteers helped make it grand!  Whilst not an AC Variety production, I’m still confident in what we’ll make of it. ;)

It’s unbelievable how many people are bringing us news stories to cover this year!  We’re well on our way to tying the record for number of productions produced last year, and that was a record itself!  I love to see the amount of interest grow in Community Television despite the poor economy.  This is definitely a good way for people to get involved while putting their worries aside for a few hours.  (Not to mention it’s no cost for you!)  None of this would be possible without the volunteer support of everyone.  Feel free to drop a line if you have a story idea or are interested in volunteering.

Speaking of volunteers, thank you to everyone that helped make the OFHS Chili Cook-off a success.  Alyssa and Jim both aided in production, and I think you’ll want to see the surprises we have.  Can’t wait to attend Jazz Night and see the great skills right here in our own community!

Got to convert some video, so take care!  Oh, and shout out to Lauren Traut of Oak Forest’s patch for her help in getting the word out on our Blarney Production!

March Roars in Like a Lion

Hi fellow readers!  I apologize for not having a new post in awhile.  Been so busy editing video.  February was definitely a blessing, despite only having 28 days.  Anyway, I have some new videos coming up shortly, so stay tuned!

The Fleadh is March 12, so come on out and see your TV crew at work!  Rumor has it that something never-done-before will be happening!  Sorry this is so short, but I got to keep editing.  More stuff soon!

The Blizzard of 2011

Well, the Midwest is recovering from the Blizzard of 2011. Of course, I took pictures… While they were for my benefit, there has been some interest in seeing them. Therefore, I have decided to post a blog entry with some of them! If you are a fan of the show, then that’s probably why you are here. So… if you have pictures, feel free to send them in here! We’ll put appropriate photos somewhere on our upcoming episode!
